![]() You can increase the chances of a random attack through use of the above discussed factors, and you can (I presume) increase the chance of that random attack being a pirate lord by auto piloting/sub light traveling in the area of the system the pirate lord was sighted in. So, to find a pirate lord at random, to the best of my knowledge, it is first a check to see if you trigger a random attack, and then a check to see if that random attack is a pirate lord. I also believe, however, that pirate lords are more likely to appear in certain localized areas of the systems they are seen in, because they always are marked on the map very close by the specific outposts they are sighted at. So, in essence, yes, you could fly around with a heavy laden ship and it would make you more likely to run into the pirate lord, but NOT because you are more likely to run into a pirate lord, but because you are more likely to be attacked, and the more encounters you have, the higher the chance of drawing the pirate lord. Taking all that into account, please note this is only the chance you will be attacked- whether or not you will be attacked by a pirate lord is simply a potential random encounter. ![]() However, there is still an element of chance to it, so while the likelihood you will be attacked may increase, it is not a guarantee, just a percentage change. Furthermore, if your ship is damaged, you are much more likely to be attacked, as well as if you are carrying valuable cargo. The weaker the ship you are in, the weaker the enemies (in general), however the more dangerous the system, the higher the likelihood of being attacked. ![]() ![]() It’s a bit complicated, but I will try and break it down as best I understand it- whether or not you are attacked is a combination of what system you are in, what ship you are flying, what the status of your ship is, and how valuable the cargo is. ![]()
